Visual Novel

Has anyone out there yet read the visual novel Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion, and Jewelry by Leanne Shapton?
I heard the author interviewed today on Q (CBC Radio - you can find the podcasts from the show's website) and it sounds super interesting. The idea is that the story is told through an auction catalogue, the contents of which show what remains from the relationship between a couple: Leonore and Harold. I'm going to seek this one out for sure.

My plan to commute, at least sometimes, to work via transit will be short-lived.  It took me 1:45h (yes, one HOUR and 45 MINUTES) to get home on Friday via Skytrain and then bus.  I could probably shave 5-10 minutes off that if I checked schedules and spent less time waiting for a train to arrive, but still.  On this map, I go from Production Way (yellow) to YVR, the airport (red).

Strangely, I'm not all that bummed about it.  It's just another factor in my evolving feeling that maybe Vancouver really isn't where I should be right now.  Don't get me wrong - I can love city-life, transit, people and general urbanity.  But I am just not that interested in it these days.  We're working on a new plan and, fingers crossed, we might see some life changes in the coming months.

More Employment

I'm just stopping in to say...I *hate* commuting. It's 40-45 minutes each way in my car. I'm going to try the bus/skytrain option next week, but I anticipate that will be more than an hour each way. At least I will be leaving a slightly smaller footprint on the planet with transit.

Something about this arrangement will have to change. Until then, I can at least be thankful that I have a job.

Employment

I'm starting a new job tomorrow.  It's only short-term and a contract, but hey - it's new.  I may also have some news by the end of the week about another position I am hoping to get screened in for.  I have my fingers crossed that my work life is going to start changing soon.
